Our Board of Directors

The American Cancer Society is one of the largest and oldest voluntary health organizations in the world. Established in 1913 by a small group of physicians and businessmen, the American Cancer Society has been governed by volunteers since its inception.

The Board of Directors is composed of five officers and 17 at-large directors. The Board sets the vision and mission for the organization and establishes strategic direction and broad policies to enable the organization to fulfill its charitable purposes. The American Cancer Society Board of Directors is committed to governing with excellence as guided by national standards and industry best practices.
